Daniel Valdez

Founder and Managing Attorney

Bio

Daniel is a native Houstonian and a first-generation college graduate.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Spanish from Sam Houston State University.  After graduating, Daniel became employed as a legal assistant. While with this firm, he assisted in the representation of the victims affected by the 2005 BP plant explosion.  He also helped clients whose insurance claims were wrongfully denied for property damages as a result of Hurricane Ike.  These experiences led Daniel to pursue his law degree at Thurgood Marshall School of Law, which ultimately led to his career as an attorney.

During his free time, Daniel enjoys spending it with his wife, family, friends and pets, as well as attending sporting events and concerts.  Daniel likes to stay active by training at Third Ward Jiu-Jitsu, and practicing yoga at Black Swan Yoga.  He is also a Life Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Experience

After becoming a licensed attorney, Daniel represented individuals who were harmed by defective pharmaceutical drugs and medical devices; such as SSRIs, vaginal mesh implants, hip implants, and IVC filter implants.  He also worked on a variety of other claims, which included agricultural litigation, personal injury, and first-party insurance litigation.  Daniel was fortunate to discuss his work with David Leffler from Public Health Watch.

Upon leaving the practice of personal injury and mass torts, Daniel shifted his focus to civil, criminal, family and immigration law.  As a result, Daniel gained valuable litigation experience and confidence in advocating for clients from all walks of life and varied circumstances.  Daniel formed Valdez Legal Advocacy, PLLC in 2017 to offer more individualized legal advice to clients.

In 2019, Daniel obtained his real estate license allowing him the ability to help others who need help and guidance handling real property transactions.
